ENGINEERING INSTRUCTOR

  • Instruct classes of up to 12 students in engineering theory.

  • Courses include radio and radar theory, test equipment, fault diagnosis, and control systems.

  • Support other instructors with lesson prep or equipment.

  • Network administration of multiple domains and 300+ VMware machines for practical lessons.

  • Introduced additive manufacturing and CAD to curriculum resulting in spare part lead time reduction from weeks, to hours.

MISSION SYSTEM TECHNICIAN

  • Sea-going deployment as part of Operation Hiki Ano to boost fleet technical expertise.

  • Maintainer and trainer for mission systems such as intruder detection, CCTV, underwater sensors, and navigational aids.

  • Secondary role as fire-fighting team leader.

ENGINEERING STUDENT

  • Awarded National Certificate in Electronics Engineering.

  • Academic development course prior to taking on new role.

  • Technical courses taken include AC/DC theory, electronic circuit design, advanced test equipment.

  • General courses include working at height safety, confined spaces and gas detection, first aid, and team leadership.

ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN

  • Basic training on induction to Royal New Zealand Navy.

  • Awarded National Certificate in Domestic Maritime Crewing.

  • Engineering branch training with basic courses and best practices covered.

  • Junior level technician on board modern New Zealand warship.

  • On job training to consolidate previous learning.

  • Perfected basic technician practices such as lock-out/tag-out, test equipment usage, and computer aided maintenance management.

PAINTBALL MARSHAL

  • Meet with customers and up-sell on packages best suited to their budget.

  • Distribute safety equipment and paintball markers, tutoring customers as needed.

  • Refereeing games of up to 50 players and coaching teams in order for customers to get the most out of their day.

  • Perform field repairs to markers as required, clean and repair 320 markers at base camp.

  • Close down at end of day, cleaning and sanitising equipment, count on valuables, and general site housekeeping.

AUDIO ENGINEER

  • Freelance work throughout high school and beyond.

  • Worked with Real Music Charitable Trust to deliver musical instruments to Samoa after the 2009 Samoa earthquake and tsunami.

  • Studio engineer at Kaipara College for hundreds of songs entered into competitions such as Play It Strange, The Lion Foundation Song Writing Competition, and Smokefree Rockquest.

  • Further work with Inertia Audio and Oceania Audio to further knowledge in live sound environments.
